The Great Western Kit Car Show is always a great way to end the show season with a lot of customers looking for a chance to review their options for the next season.

The show stand was expanded to include the other products we can now offer to our customers, in addition to the traditional high performance race cars, we now offer:
. . . tuned Ford Duratec engines (180bhp up to 280 bhp)
. . . strong, unburstable VAG transaxles (take 260lbft in a standard production road car)
. . . innovative, very flexible and very exciting Veypor All-in-One instrument (combined Rev Counter/Speedo/Shift Light/flexible Timer/Data Logging unit)
See the components page for more information on each of these exciting product lines.

The major changes to the race car reflect a host of development work over the last 3 months - the chassis is now fully bronze-welded in-house and the weight of the major front suspension components significantly reduced and upgraded.
But the biggest change is the new engine & transaxle combination - we've mated the 2.0 ltr Duratec engine to a high spec VAG transaxle.
The Ford engine has been upgraded with new pistons, rods, cams, springs, injectors and a new mapped ECU to give 225bhp with loads of torque delivered in a really flat curve from around 3,600 right up to 7,900 rpm.
The graph from the dyno generated a lot of interest and a great deal of discussion - it shows why the car accelerates so well, you really can't be in the wrong gear!
The philosophy behind our engineering is to keep things as simple as possible and hence the engine uses as many standard parts as possible, including the Ford starter motor.

The transaxle uses a standard VAG clutch, pressure plate and slave cylinder - the standard organic clutch is rated for 300+bhp and the transaxle itself for 260 lbft.
Outside the hall, we featured an earlier Honda VTEC engined car, which demonstrated the versatility of the configuration and acted as a good advert to direct people to the Mamba stand, but with the new Duratec option we're not sure why anyone would look any further for a power option.
Mamba Motorsport can supply brand new engines (either built or in kit-form) and supply transaxles for other installations as well as for fitting in their car, so it is now a real alternative to other more traditional options.
Also on the stand was the versatile Veypor combination instrument - we believe that this approach is truly the way ahead - not only do you get a full featured Speedo/Rev Counter/Shift Light/Gear Indicator/Torque&Drag Calculator but you also get a full function Data Logger + PC based analysis software
